Ne q\u00eb e kemi njohur nga af\u00ebr dhe jemi ushqyer nga vepra, nga k\u00ebshillat dhe nga shembulli i jet\u00ebs s\u00eb tij, kemi brenda nesh edhe testamentin e tij shkencor e qytetar. Eqrem \u00c7abej i takon nj\u00eb brezi intelektual\u00ebsh q\u00eb u ul n\u00eb bankat e shkoll\u00ebs kur Shqip\u00ebria sapo ishte b\u00ebr\u00eb, me mundime t\u00eb m\u00ebdha, dhe kishte mbijetuar p\u00ebrmes rreziqeve t\u00eb shumta t\u00eb Luft\u00ebs s\u00eb Par\u00eb Bot\u00ebrore. Brezit t\u00eb E. \u00c7abejt i ra detyra p\u00ebr ta m\u00ebk\u00ebmbur k\u00ebt\u00eb Shqip\u00ebri, p\u00ebr ta v\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb udh\u00ebn e zhvillimit e t\u00eb europianizimit. Ky ishte nj\u00eb brez intelektual\u00ebsh atdhetar\u00eb t\u00eb frym\u00ebzuar nga idealet e Rilindjes Komb\u00ebtare dhe nga idet\u00eb p\u00ebrparimtare t\u00eb koh\u00ebs. Ashtu si dhe shok\u00ebt e tij t\u00eb shkoll\u00ebs e t\u00eb jet\u00ebs E. \u00c7abej zgjodhi t\u00eb mbetej qytetar i vendit t\u00eb vet, i sh\u00ebrbeu shkoll\u00ebs shqipe nga Shkodra n\u00eb Gjirokast\u00ebr, dhe u rikthye n\u00eb atdhe n\u00eb nj\u00eb koh\u00eb kritike (gusht 1944), kur intelektual\u00eb t\u00eb tjer\u00eb q\u00eb nuk pat\u00ebn nj\u00eb shtyll\u00eb kurrizore si t\u00eb tij\u00ebn, merrnin rrug\u00ebn e m\u00ebrgimit.<\/p>\n<p>P\u00ebr Gjirokastr\u00ebn kishte mall dhe dashuri t\u00eb ve\u00e7ant\u00eb. Ndon\u00ebse n\u00eb t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb kishte lindur n\u00eb Eskishehir t\u00eb Turqis\u00eb, si vendlindje sh\u00ebnonte gjithnj\u00eb Gjirokastr\u00ebn. Her\u00eb pas here kishte d\u00ebshir\u00eb t\u00eb vinte n\u00eb dukje qytetarin\u00eb e gjirokastrit\u00ebve, seriozitetin, p\u00ebrmbajtjen, mir\u00ebsjelljen, dinjitetin vetjak dhe familjar, ndjenj\u00ebn e jet\u00ebs shoq\u00ebrore, d\u00ebshir\u00ebn p\u00ebr t\u00eb nx\u00ebn\u00eb, aft\u00ebsin\u00eb p\u00ebr t\u2019i b\u00ebr\u00eb ball\u00eb jet\u00ebs.<\/p>\n<p>Si \u00ebsht\u00eb e mundur q\u00eb k\u00ebta intelektual\u00eb shqiptar\u00eb, t\u00eb larguar nga vatrat familjare shum\u00eb her\u00eb n\u00eb nj\u00eb mosh\u00eb fare t\u00eb njom\u00eb, q\u00eb dinin m\u00eb mir\u00eb gjuh\u00ebt e shkollave t\u00eb tyre sesa gjuh\u00ebn e n\u00ebn\u00ebs, u kthyen p\u00ebrs\u00ebri p\u00ebr t\u2019i sh\u00ebrbyer vendit t\u00eb vet? P\u00ebrgjigjen p\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb na e jep Fan Noli me at\u00eb q\u00eb tregon p\u00ebr rastin e vet (1). Q\u00eb n\u00eb mosh\u00ebn m\u00eb t\u00eb njom\u00eb familja dhe shoq\u00ebria shqiptare i kishte m\u00ebkuar k\u00ebta djem me dashurin\u00eb p\u00ebr vendin, me ndjenj\u00ebn e krenaris\u00eb dhe t\u00eb dinjitetit komb\u00ebtar. K\u00ebto tipare mbet\u00ebn t\u00eb p\u00ebrhershme n\u00eb karakterin e tyre, sido q\u00eb rrodhi jeta dhe u g\u00ebrshetuan rrethanat. E. \u00c7abej ishte nj\u00eb nga intelektual\u00ebt e atij brezi q\u00eb e m\u00ebk\u00ebmb\u00ebn Shqip\u00ebrin\u00eb dhe q\u00eb p\u00ebrgatit\u00ebn brezin tjet\u00ebr, i cili e mbajti at\u00eb m\u00eb k\u00ebmb\u00eb. Ai na thoshte se nj\u00eb tez\u00eb gjykohet si e vlefshme, kur i q\u00ebndron kritik\u00ebs, d.m.th. kur argumentet mbi t\u00eb cilat mb\u00ebshtetet kjo tez\u00eb jan\u00eb m\u00eb t\u00eb forta, m\u00eb bind\u00ebse sesa kritika q\u00eb i b\u00ebhet asaj. N\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb kuptim ai e ka quajtur t\u00eb vlefshme e t\u00eb q\u00ebndrueshme tez\u00ebn e autoktonis\u00eb s\u00eb Shqiptar\u00ebve n\u00eb trojet e tyre t\u00eb sotme dhe tez\u00ebn e prejardhjes s\u00eb shqipes nga ilirishtja. Dihet se n\u00eb Ballkan, po edhe n\u00eb vise t\u00eb tjera, problemet e autoktonis\u00eb kan\u00eb qen\u00eb dhe mbeten t\u00eb lidhura ngusht\u00eb me diskutimet territoriale nd\u00ebrmjet shteteve. Ka mjaft shembuj kur studiuesit kan\u00eb ecur pas hullis\u00eb s\u00eb politik\u00ebs dhe jan\u00eb p\u00ebrpjekur t\u00eb provojn\u00eb me \u00e7do kusht at\u00eb q\u00eb u kan\u00eb diktuar interesat politik\u00eb t\u00eb vendit t\u00eb tyre. E. \u00c7abej nuk shkau n\u00eb k\u00ebto pozita. Parimi i tij, q\u00eb na e p\u00ebrs\u00ebriste shpesh dhe q\u00eb po e rendit si nj\u00eb pik\u00eb tjet\u00ebr t\u00eb testamentit t\u00eb tij, ka qen\u00eb: <strong>N\u00eb k\u00ebrkimin shkencor t\u00eb jemi objektiv\u00eb, por jo indiferent\u00eb.<\/strong> T\u00eb jesh objektiv do t\u00eb thot\u00eb t\u00eb ndjek\u00ebsh logjik\u00ebn e fakteve dhe t\u00eb d\u00ebshmive historike, t\u2019i marr\u00ebsh parasysh ato, t\u2019i interpretosh me nj\u00eb metod\u00eb shkencore, t\u00eb mos i shtremb\u00ebrosh e t\u00eb mos i l\u00ebsh n\u00eb harres\u00eb \u201cp\u00ebr t\u00eb provuar\u201d di\u00e7ka t\u00eb paracaktuar. T\u00eb mos jesh indiferent do t\u00eb thot\u00eb q\u00eb, kur t\u00eb tjer\u00eb p\u00ebrhapin teza e pik\u00ebpamje t\u00eb paargumentuara, n\u00eb kund\u00ebrshtim me faktet dhe me t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00ebn (qoft\u00eb nga mungesa e metod\u00ebs shkencore, qoft\u00eb me q\u00ebllime t\u00eb caktuara), duhet t\u00eb p\u00ebrgjigjesh p\u00ebr t\u2019i v\u00ebn\u00eb gj\u00ebrat n\u00eb vend.<\/p>\n<p>Jo rrall\u00eb Shqiptar\u00ebt jan\u00eb paraqitur nga disa studiues t\u00eb huaj si nj\u00eb popull barinjsh shtegtar\u00eb e luft\u00ebtar\u00eb, q\u00eb mjesht\u00ebrin\u00eb e bujq\u00ebsis\u00eb dhe dijen e mor\u00ebn prej t\u00eb tjer\u00ebsh. Duke shqyrtuar t\u00ebr\u00eb fjalorin e gjuh\u00ebs shqipe, ku pasqyrohet vet\u00eb jeta e historia e popullit, E. \u00c7abej arrin n\u00eb p\u00ebrfundimin se gjuha shqipe, si pasqyr\u00eb e jet\u00ebs dhe e historis\u00eb s\u00eb popullit, nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb e pasur vet\u00ebm me fjal\u00eb t\u00eb sfer\u00ebs baritore e t\u00eb kultur\u00ebs materiale, po edhe me fjal\u00eb t\u00eb sfer\u00ebs abstrakte-mendimore. Dhe prej k\u00ebsaj ai formulonte n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00ebn e tij t\u00eb figurshme pohimin se Shqiptar\u00ebt n\u00eb histori t\u00eb tyre kan\u00eb qen\u00eb nj\u00eb popull jo vet\u00ebm i k\u00ebrrab\u00ebs e i shpat\u00ebs, po edhe i parmend\u00ebs e i pend\u00ebs. Nga analiza e gjithanshme e marr\u00ebdh\u00ebnieve t\u00eb shqipes me gjuh\u00ebt fqinje dhe mbi baz\u00ebn e d\u00ebshmive historike ai \u00ebsht\u00eb shprehur se hap\u00ebsira e sotme e shtrirjes s\u00eb Shqiptar\u00ebve n\u00eb Ballkan nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb rezultat i nj\u00eb zgjerimi a i nj\u00eb shp\u00ebrthimi demografik nga nj\u00eb trev\u00eb e ngusht\u00eb, po p\u00ebrkundrazi rezultat i nj\u00eb ngushtimi dhe se Shqiptar\u00ebt dikur kan\u00eb luajtur nj\u00eb rol m\u00eb t\u00eb madh n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb gadishull sesa n\u00eb koh\u00ebt m\u00eb t\u00eb reja.<\/p>\n<p>Eqrem \u00c7abej, si dijetar i brumosur me parimet e k\u00ebrkimit shkencor, nuk u josh nga teorit\u00eb e mjegullta pellazgjike, as nga hipotezat romantike (q\u00eb vijojn\u00eb edhe sot) p\u00ebr gjuh\u00ebn shqipe si \u00e7el\u00ebs t\u00eb gjuh\u00ebve t\u00eb lashta t\u00eb Mesdheut (2). Ai gjithmon\u00eb nd\u00ebrtonte mbi nj\u00eb truall t\u00eb q\u00ebndruesh\u00ebm, prandaj vepra e tij do t\u00eb jet\u00eb jet\u00ebgjat\u00eb. N\u00eb \u00e7\u00ebshtjen aq komplekse t\u00eb autoktonis\u00eb, ai nuk shkonte p\u00ebrtej periudh\u00ebs antike, d.m.th. rreth 3000 vjet m\u00eb par\u00eb. P\u00ebr periudha m\u00eb t\u00eb hershme shkenca tani p\u00ebr tani nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb n\u00eb gjendje t\u00eb hedh\u00eb drit\u00eb t\u00eb mjaftueshme. <strong>Ai i jepte r\u00ebnd\u00ebsi t\u00eb dor\u00ebs s\u00eb par\u00eb metod\u00ebs dhe parimeve t\u00eb studimit<\/strong>. Pa k\u00ebto nuk mund t\u00eb ket\u00eb k\u00ebrkim shkencor. Kjo \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb pik\u00eb tjet\u00ebr e testamentit t\u00eb tij shkencor.<\/p>\n<p>Rreth nj\u00eb vit para se t\u00eb ndahej nga jeta, E. \u00c7abej mbajti nj\u00eb fjal\u00eb n\u00eb asamblen\u00eb e Akademis\u00eb s\u00eb Shkencave (9 janar 1979), e cila u botua s\u00eb pari te gazeta \u201dM\u00ebsuesi\u201d dhe te numri i par\u00eb i revist\u00ebs \u201cGjuha jon\u00eb\u201d me titullin \u201cP\u00ebr past\u00ebrtin\u00eb e gjuh\u00ebs\u201d. Ky shkrim n\u00eb nj\u00ebfar\u00eb kuptimi mund t\u00eb v\u00ebshtrohet edhe si nj\u00eb testament i tij, si nj\u00eb plot\u00ebsim i nj\u00eb amaneti t\u00eb Aleksand\u00ebr Xhuvanit, me t\u00eb cilin bashk\u00ebpunoi ngusht\u00eb shum\u00eb vjet dhe ruajti p\u00ebr t\u00eb gjithmon\u00eb nj\u00eb nderim mall\u00ebngjyes. P\u00ebr t\u00eb dy k\u00ebta dijetar\u00eb gjuha \u00ebsht\u00eb pasqyra m\u00eb e qart\u00eb e nj\u00eb komb\u00ebsie dhe e kultur\u00ebs s\u00eb saj; shkalla e pasuris\u00eb dhe e past\u00ebrtis\u00eb s\u00eb gjuh\u00ebs \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb tregues i nivelit t\u00eb k\u00ebsaj kulture. Prandaj ringjalljet komb\u00ebtare kudo e n\u00eb \u00e7do koh\u00eb kan\u00eb shkuar hap m\u00eb hap me pasurimin e pastrimin e gjuh\u00ebs. Nj\u00eb nd\u00ebr detyrat kryesore t\u00eb gjuh\u00ebsis\u00eb shqiptare \u00ebsht\u00eb dhe mbetet pasurimi i gjuh\u00ebs me elemente t\u00eb gurrave vetjake dhe spastrimi i saj prej mas\u00ebs s\u00eb fjal\u00ebve t\u00eb huaja, q\u00eb kan\u00eb v\u00ebrshuar s\u00eb jashtmi dhe q\u00eb po vazhdojn\u00eb edhe n\u00eb dit\u00ebt tona, duke dep\u00ebrtuar n\u00eb shkrimet shkencore dhe letrare, n\u00eb radio, n\u00eb televizion, n\u00eb bised\u00ebn e p\u00ebrditshme. Pastrimi i gjuh\u00ebs nga ky mish i huaj \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb detyr\u00eb shkencore, nj\u00ebkoh\u00ebsisht edhe komb\u00ebtare, = shprehet E. \u00c7abej. = Nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb aspak nj\u00eb shenj\u00eb shovinizmi, <strong>Shqiptari nuk e ka tradit\u00eb shovinizmin <\/strong>(3). Bashk\u00eb me porosin\u00eb p\u00ebr mbrojtjen e gjuh\u00ebs, ky dijetar na kujton k\u00ebshtu edhe nj\u00eb tipar moral e qytetar t\u00eb Shqiptar\u00ebve: munges\u00ebn e ndjenjave shoviniste. Kjo do t\u00eb thot\u00eb q\u00eb jo vet\u00ebm t\u00eb q\u00ebndrojm\u00eb n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb tradit\u00eb t\u00eb lavd\u00ebrueshme ton\u00ebn, po edhe t\u00eb mos lejojm\u00eb q\u00eb t\u00eb na p\u00ebrflasin t\u00eb meta q\u00eb nuk i kemi. Pra, duke mos qen\u00eb shovinist\u00eb, t\u00eb mos jemi indiferent\u00eb ndaj shfaqjeve t\u00eb shovinizmit.<\/p>\n<p>Duke u rikthyer te \u00e7\u00ebshtja e gjuh\u00ebs, e quaj t\u00eb nevojshme t\u00eb p\u00ebrmend se me propozimin e Eqrem \u00c7abejt n\u00eb Asamblen\u00eb e Akademis\u00eb s\u00eb Shkencave n\u00eb shkurt 1979 K\u00ebshilli i Ministrave nxori pas dy muajsh nj\u00eb vendim t\u00eb posa\u00e7\u00ebm p\u00ebr krijimin e Komisionit t\u00eb p\u00ebrhersh\u00ebm p\u00ebr organizimin e pun\u00ebs p\u00ebr pastrimin dhe pasurimin e m\u00ebtejsh\u00ebm t\u00eb gjuh\u00ebs letrare shqipe. (4) E. \u00c7abej propozoi t\u00eb themelohej edhe nj\u00eb revist\u00eb me emrin \u201cGjuha jon\u00eb\u201d ose \u201cGjuha shqipe\u201d. N\u00eb t\u00eb v\u00ebrtet\u00eb dol\u00ebn dy revista simotra: \u201cGjuha jon\u00eb\u201d n\u00eb Tiran\u00eb (1981) dhe \u201cGjuha shqipe\u201d n\u00eb Prishtin\u00eb (1982), por p\u00ebr fat t\u00eb keq ai nuk arriti t\u2019i shoh\u00eb. Akademia e Shkencave dhe Instituti i Gjuh\u00ebsis\u00eb e i Let\u00ebrsis\u00eb jan\u00eb p\u00ebrpjekur t\u00eb rind\u00ebrtojn\u00eb n\u00eb kushtet e sotme at\u00eb veprimtari q\u00eb shtjelloi komisioni i propozuar nga E. \u00c7abej. Me k\u00ebrkes\u00ebn e gjuh\u00ebtar\u00ebve n\u00eb Kushtetut\u00ebn e Republik\u00ebs s\u00eb Shqip\u00ebris\u00eb te neni 59 p\u00ebrcaktohet se \u201cshteti synon kujdesin e ve\u00e7ant\u00eb p\u00ebr gjuh\u00ebn shqipe.\u201d Por aktet n\u00ebnligjore t\u00eb nevojshme nuk kan\u00eb dal\u00eb ende!<\/p>\n<p>Sigurisht masat organizative kan\u00eb r\u00ebnd\u00ebsin\u00eb e vet, por krahas tyre \u00ebsht\u00eb e nevojshme bindja p\u00ebr r\u00ebnd\u00ebsin\u00eb dhe dobin\u00eb e pun\u00ebs, v\u00ebshtrimi drejt s\u00eb ardhmes. \u201cShum\u00eb fjal\u00eb q\u00eb do t\u00eb vendoset t\u00eb p\u00ebrdoren e t\u00eb hyjn\u00eb n\u00eb gjuh\u00eb, edhe neve n\u00eb fillim do t\u00eb na duken pak\u00ebz si \u00e7udi. Porse brezat q\u00eb do t\u00eb vijn\u00eb, do t\u2019i p\u00ebrdorin vetvetiu. N\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb pun\u00eb me r\u00ebnd\u00ebsi komb\u00ebtare do t\u00eb veprohet me guxim bashkuar me kompetenc\u00eb shkencore, dhe, si u tha, me hapa t\u00eb matur, me maturi n\u00eb pun\u00eb.\u201d K\u00ebshtu shkruante E. \u00c7abej n\u00eb artikullin e p\u00ebrmendur. (fq. 47)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00c7abej e vler\u00ebsonte lart gjuh\u00ebn popullore<\/strong>, duke e cil\u00ebsuar si \u201crr\u00ebnj\u00ebn q\u00eb ushqen n\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb t\u00eb pareshtur gjuh\u00ebn e shkrimit; ligj\u00ebrimi popullor \u00ebsht\u00eb i caktuar t\u00eb jet\u00eb nj\u00eb gurr\u00eb e gjall\u00eb, ku p\u00ebrt\u00ebrihet vazhdimisht gjuha e literatur\u00ebs\u201d. Rruga e par\u00eb p\u00ebr pasurimin e gjuh\u00ebs shqipe \u00ebsht\u00eb marrja e fjal\u00ebve t\u00eb gjalla n\u00eb ligj\u00ebrimin popullor e n\u00ebp\u00ebr dialekte dhe t\u00eb sht\u00ebn\u00ebt e tyre n\u00eb p\u00ebrdorim t\u00eb p\u00ebrgjithsh\u00ebm (6). N\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb kuptim ai shprehet se gjuha e shkrimit nuk duhet t\u00eb jet\u00eb dialektofobe (7), d.m.th. nuk duhet t\u00eb ket\u00eb frik\u00eb se mos fjal\u00ebt e t\u00eb folmeve t\u00eb ndryshme q\u00eb do t\u00eb merren p\u00ebr ta pasuruar a p\u00ebr t\u00eb z\u00ebvend\u00ebsuar fjal\u00eb t\u00eb huaja, do t\u00eb ndihen si mish i huaj n\u00eb t\u00eb. Vet\u00eb ai i dha gjuh\u00ebs s\u00eb shkrimit fjal\u00ebn vjetar (vjetari statistikor), t\u00eb formuar jo nga forma normative e sotme vit-i, po nga nj\u00eb form\u00eb e geg\u00ebrishtes veriore vjet\u00eb \u2013 vjeta, po ashtu fjal\u00ebn mjedis, q\u00eb \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb form\u00eb dialektore e emrit midis, dhe pik\u00ebrisht p\u00ebr k\u00ebt\u00eb dallim fonetik u mor si nj\u00eb fjal\u00eb e re e p\u00ebrshtatshme p\u00ebr t\u00eb z\u00ebvend\u00ebsuar huazimin ambient. Sot kjo \u00ebsht\u00eb b\u00ebr\u00eb nj\u00eb fjal\u00eb zyrtare deri te em\u00ebrtimi Ministria e Mjedisit.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c7abej qe jo vet\u00ebm nj\u00eb dijetar i madh, po edhe nj\u00eb m\u00ebsues i madh, nj\u00eb M\u00ebsues i v\u00ebrtet\u00eb i Popullit. Te shum\u00eb nga student\u00ebt e tij koha tashm\u00eb i ka mjegulluar njohurit\u00eb p\u00ebr fonetik\u00ebn historike e p\u00ebr historin\u00eb e gjuh\u00ebs shqipe, por ata ruajn\u00eb t\u00eb gjall\u00eb figur\u00ebn e ndritur t\u00eb profesorit dhe at\u00eb p\u00ebrmas\u00eb shpirt\u00ebrore e intelektuale q\u00eb ai p\u00ebr\u00e7onte te t\u00eb tjer\u00ebt n\u00eb nj\u00eb m\u00ebnyr\u00eb t\u00eb vetvetishme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sh\u00ebnimet:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>(1) Si ndodhi q\u00eb Fan Noli, i cili b\u00ebri shtat\u00eb vjet n\u00eb shkoll\u00ebn plotore greke dhe kat\u00ebr vjet n\u00eb gjimnazin grek, mbeti nj\u00eb djal\u00eb fshatar shqiptar n\u00eb kund\u00ebrshtim me t\u00eb gjith\u00eb arsimin grek? Pestaloci e pyeti n\u00ebn\u00ebn: \u201cSa i madh \u00ebsht\u00eb djali?\u201d Ajo u p\u00ebrgjigj: \u201cPes\u00eb vje\u00e7.\u201d Pestaloci tha: \u201cShum\u00eb von\u00eb.\u201d Ajo q\u00eb deshi t\u00eb thoshte ai, ishte se edhe n\u00eb mosh\u00ebn pes\u00ebvje\u00e7are f\u00ebmija ka marr\u00eb nj\u00eb edukat\u00eb n\u00eb sht\u00ebpi, t\u00eb cil\u00ebn \u00ebsht\u00eb v\u00ebshtir\u00eb t\u2019ia ndryshosh.
