N\u00eb vitin 1920 Gje\u00e7ovi transferohet<\/span> n\u00eb Vlor\u00ebn e pushtuar nga italian\u00ebt. Vlora pothuajse nuk ka fare popullsi katolike latine, por n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb qytet ruhej nj\u00eb kish\u00eb katolike m\u00eb shum\u00eb p\u00ebr nevojat shpirt\u00ebrore t\u00eb t\u00eb huajve, konsuj, treg\u00ebtar etj. N\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb kish\u00eb ishte vendosur gjat\u00eb atyre viteve t\u00eb pushtimit kapelani (prifti ushtarak) italian.<\/p>\n

Sapo shkon Gje\u00e7ovi n\u00eb Vlor\u00eb, s\u00eb pari p\u00ebrzen kapelanin\u00a0 e ushtris\u00eb pushtuese nga kisha. Gje\u00e7ovi ishte me karakter i prer\u00eb p\u00ebr problemet e tradit\u00ebs e pasuris\u00eb shpirt\u00ebrore shqiptare, nuk lejonte futjen e hund\u00ebve t\u00eb t\u00eb huajve n\u00eb problemet tona. N\u00eb Vlor\u00ebn e luft\u00ebs ato dit\u00eb At\u00eb Gje\u00e7ovi u bashkua me popullsin\u00eb e qytetit e u b\u00eb nj\u00eb nga perkrah\u00ebsit e frym\u00ebzues i rezistenc\u00ebs dhe luft\u00ebs kundra pushtuesit. Si shkruan edhe vet\u00eb ai, n\u00eb Vlor\u00eb nuk pati asnj\u00eb fanatiz\u00ebm, dhe ky l\u00ebvizte n\u00ebp\u00ebr qytet duke propoganduar madh\u00ebshtin\u00eb dhe shenj\u00ebt\u00ebrin\u00eb e luft\u00ebs \u00e7lirimtare. Gje\u00e7ovi shkoi me k\u00ebmb\u00eb\u00a0 n\u00eb ver\u00ebn e vitit 1920 edhe n\u00eb fshatrat e Vlor\u00ebs si bashk\u00ebluft\u00ebtar i ngaz\u00ebllyer me heroizmin e luft\u00ebtarve, q\u00eb luftonin kundra dhunuesve t\u00eb Flamurit e t\u00eb Liris\u00eb. P\u00ebr k\u00ebto dit\u00eb Gje\u00e7ovi shkruan: \u201cFilluan luft\u00ebn t\u00eb peshtetun n\u00eb shpres\u00eb t\u00eb ndihm\u00ebs s\u00eb Perendis\u00eb e t\u00eb bashkimit vllaznuer, e paten sos\u00eb a me mbet\u00eb t\u00eb gjith\u00eb n\u00eb lam\u00eb t\u00eb luft\u00ebs, ose me shperthye dyert e hekurta e ledhet e \u00e7elikta t\u00eb armiqve… e nuk durojn\u00eb q\u00eb ti vurgnoset ftyra e asaj\u00eb shqypje dhe ati flamuri, q\u00eb e pati ngul dora e prarueme e t\u00eb pa harruemit Plak, zotit Ismail Qemali, t\u00eb cilit i qoft\u00eb lumnija, e nder kang\u00eb e valle ju kendoft\u00eb emni…<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Kontributi i Gje\u00e7ovit n\u00eb Luften e Vlor\u00ebs 1920, u respektua dhe u \u00e7mua nga vlonjat\u00ebt. Me dat\u00ebn 3 shtator kur luft\u00ebtar\u00ebt hyn\u00eb n\u00eb Vlor\u00ebn e \u00e7liruar, vlonjat\u00ebt e nderojn\u00eb Gje\u00e7ovin\u00a0 duke e v\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb krye t\u00eb vendit. Ai s\u00eb bashku me atdhetarin Ahmet Lepenica do lart\u00ebsoi flamurin komb\u00ebtar n\u00eb varrin e I. Qemalit qe ne ate vit ishte n\u00eb Kanin\u00eb. Ky ishte dhe momenti kulmor i kremtimit t\u00eb fitores historike. Ishin patriot\u00ebt, ushtar\u00ebt e liris\u00eb, nanat vlonjate q\u00eb humben djemt e burrat, ishin motrat q\u00eb mbet\u00ebn pa vllez\u00ebr nga lufta e shenj\u00ebt, q\u00eb nderonin k\u00ebt\u00eb burr\u00eb nga Janjeva shqiptare, duke ja l\u00ebn\u00eb n\u00eb dor\u00eb Flamurin Komb\u00ebtar ta lart\u00ebsonte n\u00eb k\u00ebt\u00eb vend t\u00eb shenj\u00ebt p\u00ebr shqiptar\u00ebt, si nj\u00eb mesazh per Plakun vlonjat.
